The End of Solitude

Good discussion of the affects of social networking on our current culture — one in which isolation is becoming a deep rooted fear

Apathy, Disgust, Jealousy

are generally the emotions Facebook gives rise to for me.

This is especially disturbing considering my compulsion with it.

Why do i frequent a site that makes me feel terrible?

Is this how most people feel, or am I just limited to a social circle thats particularly dreadful?

It’s only once in a while that I actually use the thing and it maintains a far off affectionate friendship.

Imaginary evil is romantic and varied; real evil is gloomy, monotonous, barren, boring. Imaginary good is boring; real good is always new, marvelous, intoxicating.
